Planning a wedding is very stressful, especially if you have to think about every little detail. We planned it with friends and family, helping us accomplish our DIY projects. We both wanted an intimate wedding so we only had 60 guests in total.

Since we planned for a simple wedding, our reception was more of a fun (Live band, open bar) backyard party. The most important for both of us was to be with our family and to get married at Holy Family Church.

We bought all flowers at the Flower District in Downtown Los Angeles, got a great deal for it. It filled up the back of my Jeep. My best friend Celina flew in from the Philippines to be with us and to help me out. (I love her to the moon and back <3)

The church is beautiful and we didn't need to do a lot of work. We used baby's breath as our main flower. We cut some tulle and a bunch of the baby's breathe to decorate the aisle at church.

Rustic and Simple

I bought all flowers that was used for our entourage in downtown LA but had someone arrange the flowers, I wanted a cascading bouquet for myself and my bridesmaids flowers with greens and baby's breath flower crown to go with the rustic theme. Since it was summer we chose pink and mint as our color motif.

Wearing suits at 90+ degrees is never comfortable. So I had the men wear a traditional formal Filipino called "Barong" Its beautiful and not as hot to wear. It has nice embroidery which matches with the rustic theme.

My family who flew in to spend time with us, Family is everything!

All our guests at our wedding.

We found some old wood at a nearby house that was being renovated, so we asked for it and made this welcome sign. So guests know where to go for the backyard party

As guests entered the side yard, they are welcomed with our Photo Booth and they have to paste their extra photo in our guest book and leave a note for us.

I made our guestbook with some paper flowers and scrapbook letterings to tie it all together as a rustic guestbook.

We had our wedding at a backyard and it was 90+ degrees, so our giveaway was these beautiful fans from the Philippines. Its nicely embroidered and sturdy kind of fan. Everyone loved it! We wrapped it in burlap and organza.

The day before the wedding, my friends and family helped us set up everything. We needed to make a backdrop for the stage, so we had some twigs, heavy white cloth and photo backdrop display from amazon we bought to hold it all together. So the stand would stay in place we got some wood from the backyard we had laying around (firewood) Actually its from the old oak tree that fell 2 weeks ago.

My team who helped alot!!!

The day before the wedding, we had some last minute wood cutting which my husband cut manually. Man power is the best, old school way.

The Rustic sign I have envisioned came out perfect.

I wanted to do a ladder decor and put our initials, so we found this old wood ladder from Steves parents house and created a simple rustic design. Our wedding website and hashtag was SandN2016.

For our desert table, my cousin who is an amazing baker made us our naked cake and decorated the desert table.

I made a photo display using an old window pane added some chicken wire and clip to feature our photos as a couple.

As we cut our cake, we had some bird cage to make it rustic.

I bought a chalkboard to list our drinks. We actually had more drinks that weren't listed.

We made a hangover pouch for guests who drinks, It had pain killer, mints, antacid and power bar.

A simple backyard party after our church ceremony. Summer fun! It was a perfect day for us to spend the day with our close friends and family.
